Chocolate Crunch Gateau


Here is another yummylicious treat for all you chocolate lovers. What I really love about this dessert is the crunchiness of the cornflakes mixed with the sweetness of honey giving it a very rich taste.And to top it all, the lovely intense chocolately flavour never fails to miss its mark with both the grown-ups as well as the kids.


Ingredients
200 gms salted butter
6 Tbsp icing sugar
6 Tbsp golden syrup or honey
6 Tbsp cocoa
3-4 cups cornflakes
Filling
1 heaped Tbsp cornflour
1 cup milk
4 tbsp sugar
3/4 cup cream
2 tbsp cocoa
1 tbsp coffee
1 tbsp gelatin prepared
For decoration - whipped cream and chocolate shavings


Method
Mix butter, icing sugar, cocoa and syrup / honey and melt over gentle heat till well mixed.
Remove from fire and add the cornflakes. Mix with a light hand taking care not to crush them.






Press half this mixture in a rectangular dish.




Cover the cornflakes layer with a piece of aluminium foil.





Press in the remaining half of the cornflakes mixture.
Put in the freezer for about half an hour to set.





For the filling, cook together, milk ,sugar and cornflour till thick.

Take off heat.Add the coffee and cocoa and mix well.

Add the cream and the prepared gelatin. 


To assemble the dish :-
Lift up the foil with the cornflakes layer from the dish and keep it aside.
Spoon the filling generously on top of the bottom layer of cornflakes to cover it fully.




Place the second cornflakes layer on top of the filling.Press it down gently.


Cover the cornflakes with a generous layer of whipped cream.
Decorate with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
Chill till it is time to serve.
