My very own Versatile Blogger Award

Jeffrey_Miskell_VBA_blog_button

What an unexpected surprise - a really pleasant one though !! Thanks a ton, Pooja for honoring me with this award. It really means a lot to me. I have always being in awe of other blogs who have decorated their pages with various awards and now I have one of my own to proudly flash around. I am especially happy, as I am totally a non-technical person and in this journey I have totally being on my own. This might not seem like a big deal to some of you but setting the blog up took me a lot of patience and time right from conceptualizing to implementing. In fact, I am still in the learning stage and have a long way to go. That reminds me, I am still struggling to set up my navigation menu bar with a drop down menu without any luck. Any suggestions, guidance, help of any kind on this topic is really welcome and highly appreciated.
All the same, thanks a lot for the love and recognition. Its always nice when you are appreciated by your fellow bloggers.
On receiving this award, I have been asked to:
1)   Thank the person who awarded you the badge and link back to them in this post(done)
2)   Share 7 things about myself.
3)   Pass the award on to 5 or 15 more bloggers that I enjoy.

4) Contact these bloggers to let them know about the award.

Having already thanked Pooja in the beginning, I now come to the second step - to  share 7 random things about myself. At first thought I couldn't really  think of anything that might sound a wee bit interesting but after a little while and a lot of introspection I came up with so many things to share that it was really difficult for me to stop. It was a lot of fun to look back and think what could really make you a interesting enough person for people to read about you. So here goes:-

  1. I am a firm believer in "Whatever happens, happens for the best and there is someone up there always looking after you".
  2. I love to travel , especially long journeys by road, and can be ready at a moment's notice to travel anywhere.
  3. I have an ongoing battle with my weighing scale (though I very conveniently like to blame it on my hypothyroid). So,let's see who wins.
  4. I love trekking and camping in the hills. Just love the pristine clean air, the flowing streams and the silence of the nature surrounding you.
  5. I have studied in 11 different schools primarily because my father was in the armed forces.
  6. I have a fear of swimming in the sea - and to overcome it I went scuba-diving in the Andamans last year. (The experience was just mind-blowing)
  7. I believe in speaking up my mind and just can't take any nonsense. I just hate it when people think you will accept everything quietly and try to take you for a ride.(Though I secretly feel that my husband and kids get embarrassed by this).

These things truly reflect about me as a person.
About the next rule, much as I would like to divert from the regular norm and break  the norm of passing the award further on as it is very difficult to nominate a few and  leave out the rest. I feel all blogs are truly deserving as only a blogger can understand how much of effort, thinking and hard work goes into writing a post. But on the other hand, I know how much I loved receiving this award, so similarly I would love to pass on the honors to some other blogs that I enjoy visiting. Here they are and yes most of them are about cooking:
Cute and cool Blogstuff
Unleashed in the world
Passionate about Baking
Sprinkle Bakes
One Perfect Bite
My Culinary Adventures
Words
Happy Home Baking
Lecker and Yummy Recipes
Skinnytaste.com
Ria's collection
The Food Librarian
Sprinkled with flour
Easy cooking
Magpie recipes
I nominate this award to all my fellow bloggers for putting in their heart and soul in writing and sharing their passions with their friends. Of course, there are many many more blogs that are worth a mention. While you go and pay them a visit, I will finish up my task of informing the nominees of their nominations.
Adios and do keep visiting!
