Its keema and macaroni on the menu today. I can already imagine the excitement on the dining table, as it is a huge favorite of my hubby and two kids. I think, the combination of minced meat with the white sauce, served hot with the melting mozzarella cheese on the top makes this dish a perfect 10.
Ingredients
500 gms Keema (minced meat)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, crushed
3 tablespoon tomato puree
2 teaspoons coriander powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
2 cups macaroni
1 tsp garlic powder
11/2 cups white sauce
1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
salt and pepper to taste
Method
Add the garlic, saute and add the mutton mince.
Add the tomato puree, coriander powder, cinnamon powder and salt.
Saute the keema adding a little water and simmer and cook, covered for 15 minutes. Uncover, and simmer for 15 minutes more till done.
Remove from heat and set aside.
Meanwhile boil the macaroni with a little salt, drain and set aside.
To assemble the dish :
Brush a 9 by 13 dish with butter. Spread the boiled macaroni at the bottom.Sprinkle with a bit of garlic powder.
Layer the keema on top of macaroni.
On second thoughts, why not mix both the keema and macaroni as the macaroni would loose its blandness and taste much better.
Cover it completely with the white sauce.
Sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese and bake in a preheated oven at 200 C for 25 minutes until nicely golden.
Serve hot.
super-duper tastylicious!! |
